For those of you who remember back in the days of alt.fashion where Thelma and Louise (aka Connie and Lisa) were always having adventures of the fashionista kind... watch out!! We're back with a Minnie Me of Connie (aka Madeleine).
Connie and Madeleine came by the new shop yesterday with their good friend Rhonda, visiting from CT... we had a great time... Madeleine had the store and herself smelling absolutely delicious (I still can smell the pinapple concoction this morning!!). We're pictured here in front of the shop on my little bench.
As some of you may already know if you've read my emails and occasional blogs, Madeleine was diagnosed several years ago with JM (aka Juvenile Myositis), an auto-immune disorder that
affects approximately 5,000 children and teens nationwide.
This family of rare and debilitating diseases can cause muscle weakness and pain, extreme fatigue, digestive difficulties, lung and heart problems, painful calcium deposits under the skin and a host of other side-effects. While some children will experience a remission, others will suffer JM’s destructive effects their entire lives. Some children will even die from complications of the disease.
On the weekend of October 27th and 28th, Connie her family and I, along with all the other lovely families from CureJM, will be participating in the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington D.C. Now, don't look for Connie nor I to actually be running in it (paleez, you know us better than that!!)... we will however be volunteering our time that weekend. We'd love to see you come, participate, volunteer or donate!!

In other Beauty Cafe news... Mish is taking a bit of time off to focus on the baby... so go a little easy on me these days as I switch hats back and forth... We've also decided to hold off the Grand Opening, to a 10year Celebration Party sometime early July... so we'll keep you posted. Still much to be done to get the shop fully ready in the back expansion!!
Our best to you all... we're closing early today due to impending inclement weather... Rain, hail and tornadoes oh my!! I'm still a Cali girl at heart and don't do well when the threat of hail comes around, let alone tornadoes!1
